How to get the best results from your designer

The relationship between a brand owner and a custom web designer is one of the most important when it comes to building a successful business. This partnership sits at the centre of the customer experience, dictating exactly where and how people come into contact with your business, and how your business is perceived by your target market. So how can you make sure that you get the best results from your custom web designer? Here are a few tips from the Kartogram team.

  1. Have an idea of your end goal. Know where you want your business to end up and what your ultimate dream is - and communicate this with your custom web designer. Even if your dream is a long way off from your current business position, it’s important for your custom designer to know what you’re aiming for in both short and long term. You never know, they may even have some advice for your designs that will help you to grow!
  2. Have a vision for your project. Alongside your long term end goals, it’s equally key to focus on each web design project individually. The more you can isolate and explain exactly what your project aims to do and the results you want to achieve, the more likely your web designer is going to be able to help.
  3. Be flexible and communicative. If your custom web designer creates something that you’re not happy with, let them know! Be communicative and explain how and why their design isn’t meeting your brief - that way, they can fix it! Whilst it’s important to be open to suggestions from your web designer (as these are very likely to help you!), they still need guidance from you and direction for the project.
